2016 Candlelight Memorial Service
As most of you know, at 7 pm grieving families gathered last night (December 6th) at the 120 various Angel of Hope locations to honor our loved ones who are no longer with us. Our Angel of Hope in the Maple Grove Arboretum was where we gathered. It was very cold and we experienced blistering winds but miraculously we felt a sense of peace in that cold. The peace came from those who were around us. Words did not need to be spoken. We were surrounded by people who had experienced a loss or were supporting someone who has lost their precious loved one. That fellowship is a powerful thing. The poem, “We Remember Them” was read and the thoughtful messages of the Mayor of Maple Grove, Mark Steffenson, and Chaplin Greg Boden were appreciated by all.
One of our Friends of the Angel Volunteer, Sarah Kerbeshian, was interviewed by Channel 12 after the Candlelight Memorial Service. She shared what the Angel of Hope means to her family as they honor her son, Luke, and her nephew, Matthew. You can watch the video here.
